The Founder
“Il Sole Skær was created during a very special time in my life, while I was expecting our son, who is half Danish and half Italian.
I wanted to create something luxurious, pure, and gentle, something that carried the feeling of both the places that shape our family: Scandinavia and Southern Italy, and to bring together the freshness of the North and the warmth of the South."
"I set out to create the fresh Scandinavian breeze and the warm Southern Italian sun poured into a bottle, while knowing I was applying something pure to my body to provide moisture, enhance glow, and leave the skin silky soft rather than sticky.
So I began to find the best ingredients from both places, and Il Sole Skær is the result.

The Composition
At the heart of Il Sole Skær lies a meeting of landscapes.
From the sun-warmed groves of Cilento, golden olive oil brings warmth and depth, lifted by bright citrus notes of lemon and bergamot, capturing the light of the Mediterranean.
From the North, sea buckthorn and rosehip add a fresh, vibrant radiance, echoing Scandinavian coastlines, wild roses, and clear air. Finnish juniper introduces a subtle forest note, while Italian chamomile softens the blend with gentle calm.
Together with jojoba, sweet almond, apricot oils, and natural vitamin E, the composition balances warmth and freshness, light and depth.
Silky and fast absorbing, it melts into the skin, leaving it soft, nourished, and naturally radiant without heaviness.
As the scent unfolds, it evokes distant landscapes, from the crisp Scandinavian coast to the warmth of the Italian sun.

The Details
At the base of the glass bottle, you will find a subtle detail of Italian mountains, inspired by the landscapes of the South. A small detail, meant to be noticed over time.
The name Il Sole Skær is a word play and reflects the same meeting of worlds. “Il Sole” means the sun in Italian, while “Skær” is a Danish word for glow or shine.
